ABOUT TENNIS AT THE OTTAWA ATHLETIC CLUB

The Ottawa Athletic Club has for over 30 years been recognized as the premier tennis facility in the City. In recent years we have continued to build on that reputation to the point where the club is viewed as one of the best in North America.

In fact, the Ottawa Athletic Club & Noble Tennis School were recently ranked 5th in the nation by Tennis Canada! In an annual survey of junior tennis programs, which rates clubs across the country in a variety of categories, such as coaching staff, program structure, player development history and physical training components, the Ottawa Athletic Club finished 2nd amongst Ontario clubs, and 5th nationally. More than 60 clubs, designated as Tennis Development Centers (TDC), participate in the survey and TDC program. Next Stop: #1 in Canada!

Ottawa Athletic Club Tennis Director Tony Roth has designed a junior program described by Tennis Canada as "outstanding." The School is able to accommodate the increasing number of players demonstrating high levels of enthusiasm and aspiration, and seeking a truly comprehensive approach to their tennis. Tony’s extremely qualified staff easily ranks as one of the country’s finest.

In recognition of this ongoing excellence, Tony was the recipient of both a 2005 Coach of the Year Award and a 2006 Coaching Excellence Award, both from Tennis Canada. Many former and current members have played at Provincial, National, International and Varsity levels.

Adult members thrive under programs that offer a variety of opportunities to try, learn and play the great game of tennis. Instructional programs are of the highest quality, and also offer opportunities to meet new friends and playing partners. Regular social events and friendly competitions round out the complete menu of enjoyment and improvement.

And don’t forget about our summer camps. The tennis department offers a highly lauded camp for beginners and intermediate players, offering a truly safe, fun and effective introduction to the game and development of fundamental skills. For more advanced students, the OAC Advanced and High Performance Camps provide a combination of technical training, athletic development and fitness, tactical awareness and coached matchplay that takes the aspiring student to a new level. The incredible OAC facilities and Noble Tennis School methodology combine to create a second-to-none camp experience.
