PLAYCARE
The OAC is committed to offering high quality services to even our youngest members. We are proud to welcome children ages 0-8 to the Playcare. The OAC Playcare provides a safe, nurturing environment in which children can learn and play while parents enjoy all that the club has to offer.

GENERAL INFORMATION The Playcare is a well-equipped, clean facility with lots for children to do. The Playcare room features a fun area for older toddlers and children with a snack area, climbing structures, and lots of room to run around. A separate baby room for infants and young toddlers ensures our youngest OAC members are safe and cared for within the Playcare.

Parents are welcome to drop children off at the Playcare for up to 2.25 hours. The Playcare is a nut-free environment in which current and new members are asked to help keep any nut contaminated products out of the room. The Playcare staff are happy to assist your child with eating, toileting, diaper changes, etc.

WHO ARE WE? The Playcare staff are all highly trained and trustworthy. All staff are certified in CPR/First Aid and many have completed a specialized infant and child defibrillation course. Some staff members have completed Early Childhood Education programs and all share a love and interest in children!

RATIO There is a minimum of two staff in the Playcare room at all times regardless of the number of children. Staff numbers increase during peak hours to ensure high quality care and safety.

WHAT DO WE DO? In the Playcare room children will have the freedom to play with other children their age, enjoying blocks, books, dolls, structures, costumes, puzzles, ridealong toys etc. Art activities are available based on themes, and free-play art can be enjoyed using fun and interesting craft materials provided. Music is enjoyed through games and songs, as well as creative drama and movement games. Some days older children will be taken to an indoor squash court to enjoy some physical activities, sports and games.

The Playcare has special parties for children and parents based on themes and holiday celebrations. Our past parties have been a big success with children looking forward to showing moms and dads what we do at Playcare! Past parties have included Halloween (with real trick-or-treating around the club), Christmas/Hannukah, Valentines, Spring/Easter, and St. Patrick’s Day.

THINGS TO REMEMBER
Bring a change of clothes, diapers, wipes, and a healthy snack
Please label all your children’s belongings
Please keep special toys at home. We have lots of toys to enjoy in the Playcare and don’t want your children’s toys to break or get lost
Bring smart snacks that are nut free (and have no traces of nuts), healthy, and low risk for choking (no popcorn, whole grapes, etc)
Please keep sick kids at home (including fever, coughs, and runny noses)

CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU We look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new friends. If you are a new member interested in using the Playcare please call, e-mail or come up in person to meet us. We thank the ongoing support from our current Playcare families, and are happy to provide your children a safe and fun experience while you enjoy using the club’s facilities.
