| JUNIOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM Junior members between the ages of 12-16 are required to take the Junior Certification before working out on the track. This one hour certification will insure that juniors know how to operate the cardio and conditioning machines that are appropriate for them to use when training alone in the track area.
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION Every new member at the OAC is given an orientation to the track area. Appointments for your orientation can be made in person when joining the club, by phone, or by email. The orientation is conducted by the track supervisor and consists of a tour and a thorough explanation of the different components of the workout. This is
followed by a demonstration of cardio equipment and a selection of weight
machines. The orientation is not personal training and the machine based
program is non-specific. Members with specific goals or training concerns such as health problems should consult a Personal Trainer before attempting a program.

FITNESS TESTING The OAC has three different modalities for fitness testing.
FITNESS & LIFESTYLE ASSESSMENT The Fitness department offers the CPAFLA fitness test and lifestyle assessment. This test provides information on cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, strength and other measures of fitness.
LACTATE TESTING Lactate testing results are used to set training schedules not only for triathlons but in many competitive sports.
V02 MAX TESTING The OAC Sport Advantage Centre can provide VO2 Max Testing using the iMett System.
